Not sure if I have mentioned one of my pet peeves. I hate following someone through a door when they only open it wide enough to slide themselves through then let it slam. Bastages!
Courtesy people, come one! Maybe I was just brung up right, but I always check when going through a door to see if anyone is following behind me. If so, I hold the door for them, and yes, I have held a door open for a long procession of people. By doing this I don’t infer that anyone is unable to open the door for themselves.
I have only ever had one person get snippy because I held the door open for them. I was going through a door in a mall and a homeless guy was behind me lugging armfuls of plastic bags full of his belongings. As I held the door open he looked at me and called me a “Fucker” and told me he was capable of opening the door for himself thank you.
“Fine,” I said then said an expletive “wine racks,” then let the door slam in his face.
Okay, I said something other than wine racks, but I had to drop that link in somehow!

That link cracks me up. You are such a winerack!
That is totally going to be my new curseword.
Wine racks!!!
Mr. Fabulous’s last blog post..Guess what I did last night?
Love it. I’m going to work, “You are such a winerack” into conversation today, as needed!

Instead of “bastages” I say “bastardos”
Thanks for having It’s A Blog Eat Blog World in your Entrecard widget today!
Weird… When I hold the door for somebody, or when somebody holds the door to me, we here just say thank you
In our block of flat it is so, that one holds the door for the another one and than the another one holds the door for the first one and than the another one holds the door of the lift for the first one
(we have lots of doors :-D)
And sadly I drink only wines which have to stand, because they could catch a bad taste from the cork
hmm… that sweet taste of Porto ruby… hmm
Aha…. so that is the wine rack… In my language we call it just wine stand or something like that
Okay now I started something
As well as bastages I sometimes say bar stewards, I’m too nice to say bastards!
Mik’s last blog post..Lampilicious
I’ve said “bastage!” before, LOL.
The only thing that irritates me when someone holds the door for me (which they probably do because we’re in the south AND I use a walker) is that it makes me feel like I have to hurry up.
Just like when I’m at a cross walk & I’d rather wait for the cars to go by than snail my way across the street, they ALWAYS wave me past.
I understand that they’re being polite. But sometimes it gets on my nerves.
