Let’s all accost Mik day.

Today must have been “Let’s Accost Mik Day”, but I never got the memo.

Today, it seems I must have had a big neon arrow above my head and a sign alerting everyone on the street. Wherever I went people were stopping me, asking for spare change, trying to get me to sign their petition or complete a survey.

Waiting for the bus this morning “Tourette’s Guy” stood there and grunted and moaned at me before walking away. That should have indicated the day that was ahead of me. Old dude on a bus felt he had to tell me all about something that I didn’t quite catch every word he was saying and had a hard time comprehending the words I could hear.

Three people conducting a survey for the same company stopped me at three different street corners, and I lost count of people with their hands out or jiggling their cups in front of me for spare change.

On the crosswalk to the library, halfway across, a guy stops me and mistook me for someone he knew, he got a bit agitated at first because rather than talk to him in the middle of the road I walked briskly to the sidewalk. Getting run down once before while standing on a crosswalk makes one not want to loiter in the street!

He eventually got it into his head that we had never met before and went on his merry way.

I was glad to get home, hopefully it will be someone else’s turn tomorrow!

whoa, that’s a lot of pit stop. =_=

i used to have days like that all the time sir. i’d remedy it by having headphone sin at all times. usually it was legit and i was listening to something, but sometimes even if i didn’t bring my mp3 player or the batteries had died, i’d plug em in my ears anyway.

then i shaved my head. i’ve noticed random encounters have all but stopped since i did. not sure why, perhaps bald guys look menacing (as opposed to the dope with the receding hairline who trying to hide it).
