BBC News Friday: Naked man in girlfriend’s boots ram raid a supermarket

May 16th, 2008 · No Comments

BBC News Friday: Man ram-raids supermarket wearing boots and a sheet.

This BBC News caught my eye, a drunken man wearing a sheet and his girlfriend’s Ugg boots1 ram-raids a supermarket and gets jailed.

This guy steals his girlfriends boots and car (I wonder which upset her more?), and gets involved in car chase with Police and repeatedly rams his car into the front of a grocery store. He also gets caught on CCTV doing all this and is naked except the boots and a sheet.

He now has a four year jail term to consider his stupidity, I mean come on dude, that sheet no way goes with those boots!

On another note Carolyn and I are currently budgeting and planning in preparation for us moving house, hopefully service here won’t be too disrupted.

BBC News Friday: Europeans get drunk to have sex

May 9th, 2008 · 4 Comments

BBC News Friday: Article on BBC News site I saw was about a study that says Europeans get drunk to increase their chances of sex. Apparently “this study showed many young people were “strategically” binge drinking or abusing drugs to improve their sex lives.”

I guess you get people together who are blitzed and their guards are down and they have risky sex.

I don’t know, I’ve never been totally drunk, just buzzed but even then it definitely doesn’t improve my sex life. A couple of Margaritas and I’m on the bed prancing around thumping my chest and roaring like Tarzan. Then the room starts spinning, I feel weird and collapse off the bed into a heap on the floor. Carolyn hasn’t even come into the room yet!

BBC News Friday: Man regrows fingertip

May 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

BBC News Friday: Man regrows finger tip.

A guy in Ohio lost part of his finger in a model aeroplane accident! His brother who works in regenerative medicine supplied some material called extracellular matrix which was sprinkled on the finger. Apparently the finger has grown back.

Scientists are skeptical and figure the injury wasn’t as bad as made out and the natural healing properties of the finger caused the skin to heal over.

Interesting reading indeed. BBC News fingertip article link.

BBC News Friday: Euro whiff smelly Europeans

April 18th, 2008 · No Comments

BBC News Friday: Euro whiff.

A story on the BBC News site about a fouls tench that is hanging over parts of England. Well, now I live in the States, they can’t blame me anymore!

Apparently sulfur and manure type smells are evident when the wind blows and it appears it is coming in from continental Europe. Don’t those people bathe?

Some people even thought there were dead animals near their properties the smell was that bad.

BBC News Euro whiff article link

Been checking out a bath lift site, Carolyn mentioned something about them for when we get too achy and old for getting in and out of the bath. Maybe I can get one that lifts me from bed, dunks me in the bath then whizzes me off to the breakfast table!

BBC News Friday: Expensive animal dung coffee

April 11th, 2008 · 10 Comments

BBC News Friday: Read an article on the BBC News site for an expensive coffee. I don’t drink much coffee other than the occasional white chocolate mocha now and again.

This expensive coffee is made from beans that have been eaten by an Asian Civet, then the beans are washed to remove the dung and used to brew the coffee.

The idea just, well, yuk.

So would you try this coffee?

BBC News: Guy fined for wearing thong backwards

March 26th, 2008 · 5 Comments

A guy in the UK was fined in court for being out in public feeding pigeons wearing only a thong, he had that on backwards and was apparently drunk.

Children where walking past while he was doing this and some complained.

Dude, I think most guys should be fined for wearing thongs the right way let alone backwards!

BBC News Friday: Stingray kills woman

March 21st, 2008 · 4 Comments

BBC News Friday: Stingray kills woman. I saw the story of a stingray jumping into a boat and knocking a woman over and they both ending up dead. Dang, those things are dangerous, several people have been struck by these rays on boats. I saw a video somewhere of a woman videoing from a boat and a stingray jumping up and impaling her with its barb.

Don’t think I’ll take any boat trips where Stingrays are about.

BBC News Stingray article.

In other news, I saw a car cover site and they have “canine covers”, I know of course they are for putting on your car seats to protect them from pet dander. But you know how my mind works!

“Hey Bob, what’s that thing covered in the corner?”

“Oh that, that is Rufus our Pit Bull, he is under the canine cover pretending to be a side table.”

“Okay! How’s that working for ya?”

“Not good, try balancing your coffee mug on there, it spills and then you get your face ripped off!”

BBC News Friday: WWII Bag returned to soldiers family

February 29th, 2008 · 2 Comments

BBC News Friday: WWII bag returned to family of soldier

A cool story from the BBC news site, a tourist guide in Egypt found an old WWII satchel, he traveled to England after finding the family of the soldier who owned the bag. He returned the bag to the family and it contained some personal letters and effects.

I like cool stories like this with long forgotten items finding their way back to their owners. Great for the guide to go to those lengths to return the bag also.
