I like books, we have them stacked all over the place, especially since moving as we haven’t gotten everything put away yet. I would love to get a bookcase that covers a whole wall and have all our books in one place. All labeled and in their appropriate shelves, novels, textbooks, Bibles, true crime, mentalism, magic, writing, reference, cold reading, psychology  and all other topics and subjects.

I go through phases where I don’t read a book for a while, then I go and start reading like crazy and have several books on the go at once. Sometimes I’ll put a book down and then pick it up months later, open it at the bookmark and continue reading.

I prefer to read biographies and non-fiction but am currently reading Lawrence Sander’s The Third Deadly Sin and Burning in the Heat by Michael Martin. Michael is a blogger whose blogs I read although he hasn’t updated them in a while but he writes books and kindly sent me his latest.

Every time I go into the local used bookstore they ask if I have any to return for store credit, but I tend to keep hold of my books.

On my desk I have a copy of Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes which is 95 years old and a book of poems by Rupert Brooke which is 92 years old. I like old books and pick them up when I find them at reasonable prices.

Okay so I’m rambling!

So what book are you currently reading?

Sitting on the bus I had my cell phone out and was switching it from vibrate to ring, a girl got on the bus she seems stoned and out of it. I dropped th phone into my messenger bag and my stop was fast approaching. I heard the girl asking other passengers if they had a cell phone she could use.

I make the point of not lending my phone out and as my stop was approaching i didn’t someone to start using it then having to grab it off them while I got off the bus. She came up besides me and asked if I had a phone she could borrow, I said I didn’t. I thought, crap now I know what will happen.

I got up to get off the bus and as I thought my wife text messages me, my phone now off vibrate starts ringing, I can feel the girl’s eyes burning into my back, oh well! Least it didn’t happen while I was sitting there telling the girl i didn’t have a phone.
Was I bad?

In other news, I am currently reading Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis, I found it easier to get into than some of his other books.

The wife and I have been going to bed an hour earlier than usual so we can lay in bed and read. She has been working her way through the Narnia series of books.

I just finished Choke by Chuck Palahniuk and started his book Haunted.

I woke up in the middle of the night, rolled over and looked over at my night table, the book which has a face on the front was glowing brightly in the dark. Cool I thought then drifted back off to la la land.

I thought nothing of it until on the way home on the bus, I was thinking about the book and convinced myself that I was probably dreaming it and the book did not actually glow.
Well blow me! Just held it under the light and then walked into the walk-in closet, darn thing does too glow, well just proves I am easily pleased methinks.

Least I didn’t wake up and see the eery glowing face and freak out!
