The girls at play
Filed Under grand kids | 4 Comments
The daughter came over to check her email, we got her a PC for Christmas but she hasn’t gotten the Internet yet. Aurianna, our grand daughter wanted to play with “grandpa’s computer”, so she opened Word and started typing and practicing her spelling.
She has fun and gets some practice in. She finds it amusing that there are three screens with different things on them. I have Assault On Precinct 13 paused on one screen.

Stuff the grand kids say and do
Filed Under grand kids | 2 Comments
We have had several of the grandkids here (four of them), they have been having fun and getting all excited about Christmas.
Aurianna Jade and Jade Marie were in the office playing with Barbie’s, apparently one of the Barbie’s was going to marry Buzz Lightyear and they were have a wedding party.
Aurianna’s Mom called her from down stairs, Aurianna didn’t hear, so Jade says:
“Your Mom is calling you Aurianna Jade!”
“You do not call me that Jade Marie!”
I laughed and pointed out that is her cousin cannot use both her names then she shouldn’t do so in return.

Aurianna’s brother was in the dinning room, he picked up a Tootsie Roll, his Mom told him he wasn’t to eat it before dinner. He disappeared underneath the dinning room table. When he came out his Mom asked what he had in his mouth, to which he wasn’t replying. She made him open his mouth and he spat out the Tootsie Roll.
She told him if he didn’t stop eating candy she wouldn’t put any in his Christmas stocking.
After a short while he grins and says,”Mom I have something else for you to put in my stocking,” and then pulls out a second Tootsie Roll from his pocket.
We all laughed.

Nephews and grand kids and stuff they say
Filed Under grand kids | 5 Comments
I was talking to my Mum in the UK, my two nephews were there visiting. Mum says having those two running around is exactly like having my brother and I running around again, they are so much like us two. One is always reading and ready with the pithy comeback and smart arse retorts, the other is always up to no good getting into all sorts of mischief.
I was talking to the eldest and I could hear he was eating something.
“What are you eating?” I asked.
“Cola Cubes.”
“All your teeth will fall out.”
“No they won’t.”
“No!”
“No, my teeth will go rotten first then fall out.”
Ah ha smart arse!

Alec our four year old grandson has taken to saying “What the heck?” every time he sees something that catches his eye, not sure who he picked it up from. Carolyn and I go to great pains to make sure we don’t say anything inappropriate in front of the grand kids. If we are watching something on TV we feel unsuitable when they come around we switch channels.
We make sure we don’t swear in front of them, especially me, I don’t need one of the kids to blurt out “Bollocks!” Every one will know exactly who they heard that from and I’d be in big trouble.
I did manage to get Alec to mimic me and say “Hello mate” with the prerequisite English accent. Aurianna his older sister would respond to my “Uh oh,” with “Better get Macco, ” as from the TV commercials.
This was stopped when it was pointed out, “Grandpa, these are your grand children not your personal performing monkey’s.”
Dang!
Fly my pretties, fly
(Yes I know that quote never actually appeared in the Wizard of OZ).
Edit: Carolyn just told me that at Aurianna’s slumber party, she impersonated her grandpa in front of all her friends, and did awesome with the English accent, her Mom said she did it so well.

Tis time to shop ho ho ho

Well tis the season, time to start getting presents for the kids and grand kids, we asked for lists of what they wanted for gifts. Lists were a bit long but this year we decided we would try and get each person something they wanted at least.
We already ordered the Playstation 3 for the son, one of the daughter’s is getting a computer. Some of the kids requested clothes, but we’ll get them some cool stuff each. The youngest will get a slew of baby clothes and a cool new playpen.
It isn’t every year we get such high end gifts for everyone but we decided this year that as we were doing so well that we would spread the good cheer.
I got my new camera from Carolyn and she has yet to let me know what she wants, but I usually surprise her with a few gifts.
So if you have any gift requests get them in now while we are in the shopping mood LOL

Ewww grandpa pootered on me
Filed Under grand kids | 6 Comments
We have the son and his family staying a few days over Thanksgiving, they are cooking, so we welcome the visit. Cage is in the playpen laughing and screaming Jade is running around wanting to be the center of attention.
I am standing at the bathroom sink trimming the mustache I am trying to cultivate, thinking I am alone. I feel something brewing and let rip a loud fart.
“Eeewww,” I hear behind me, Jade was standing behind me, she looked at me,screwed up her face then ran downstairs to tell Grandma, “Grandpa pootered on me.”
Dang, busted.

I survived with grandson Alec all day
Filed Under grand kids | 2 Comments
Carolyn got back with our daughter Jaqui, they spent the day down town, the grand daughter spent the day with friends and I had Alec ‘Zander, the four year old. We had fun all day long.
I put batteries into the large Buss Lightyear figures I have and we played with those, we watched both Toy Story movies. Grandma gave Alec five dollars so after we went out for lunch, chicken nuggets all round, we went to Party City. Alec got a pair of Power Ranger guns, when we got home we played with those.
Although Alec informed me his gun had bullets but mine had water in it, so guess who lost all the battles? We tired each other out a bit but had fun playing hide-and-seek too. He kept asking if he was being a good boy, I assured him he was being really good.

Grand daughter says hi and Craigslist
Filed Under grand kids | 7 Comments
Sitting here reading blogs and wondering why I cannot get the page rank of this site to register, bah arghhh. Knock at the door and Alec and Aurianna, two of our grand kids come hurtling up the stairs.
“Grandpa grandpa,” I get hugs and kisses. Alec’ Zander (that’s how his parents named him) tries to lift the Jack Sparrow figure form my desk or one of the other figures around the office. Aurianna wants to sit on my lap and play on the computer. She is happy in Word just typing stuff on the screen. I got her to type her name.
Then she asks me to look at something on the “Intanets.” I ask her what and she says Hannah Montana.
“Who?”
She had to explain she was some character on a Disney show (she and my wife are crazy over High School Musical and Aurianna will dance in front of the TV singing all the songs). I looked up Hannah Montana and she enjoyed looking at all the pictures I found in Google.
Then she wants to go see Hannah on tour. So I had to search Hannah Montana tour for her. She got really excited when we saw the tour is in this State next month. So I guess I may be financing tickets for her, her siblings and parents. But I’ll be happy to do it to make her happy.
She told me to tell my bloggers “Hi” and skipped off to tell her Mom she is going to see Hannah Montana.

In other news, I saw a trade advert on Craigslist today.
Plumber Wanted.
“I need a plumber to install a sink. I can trade a Brazilian Waxing, facials or some other service.”
I guess some hairy plumber who needs his bikini-line waxing will get hooked up.
