Valentine’s Day - love story - our story

Our love story - the short version time compressed.
It won’t last!
A few years ago I had numerous pen pals all over the UK and the world, then I got a computer and first signed up with Compuserve then AOL. I then discovered online pals and liked the instant responses, no waiting around for snail mail.
One of my online friends was a girl here in Seattle, one day I got up the courage to actually call her on the phone. She wasn’t in but her neighbor was there baby sitting, we talked for a short while. After that initial call we then started sending each other email, talking online, phoning and sending snail mail letters. This went on for over two years, we spent a fortune in phone bills, wore out several keyboards and cut a swathe through a forest of trees with all the letters and cards we sent.
One day I decided to propose marriage and to my surprise Carolyn said yes!
We made arrangements and Carolyn flew to England on the 13th of February, we got married on the 17th of the same month and spent ten wonderful days together.Then we parted with the intention of Carolyn eventually moving to the UK. But after again spending a ton of money on phone bills and considering that Carolyn had kids and grand kids, I upped and moved to the States.
I met the family and slowly had the kids loving me and the grand kids adoring me. We proved the naysayers wrong, and are happily married. I feel blessed to have a beautiful loving wife, some great (most of the time) kids and a gaggle (eight with number nine on the way) of grand kids. We are very much in love and some people still think we are in the honeymoon stage.
So to my loving wife Carolyn, I love you my darling you are my world and you mean everything to me, I have never regretted being your husband, thank you for being mine, I love you with all my heart.
Several people said it wouldn’t last and to those people I say;
Sunday is our tenth wedding anniversary.

Life begins at 40 something else starts at 41

I am upstairs feeding Max the rabbit, he is busy trying to tear my arm off to get the handful of hay I am trying to get in his cage.
Carolyn is downstairs and calls up for me to bring something down for her.
“I’ll be right down dear, ” I shout as I close up the cage. I get down the two flights of stairs and standing at the bottom realize my hands are empty.
Dang. They say life begins at 40, well, the dementia must start at 41!
I cannot for the life of me remember what the wife asked me to bring literally seconds before. I walk into the kitchen to ask her, wondering why there is a bra laying across the microwave, she has her back to me. I start to say something and she turns around, pulls up her top, and I stop in my tracks and the words explode from my mouth;
“UNFETTERED BOOBAGE!”
We both just crack up laughing and I fall into her arms. Ten years of marriage and she still gets me every time, hot, flushed and grinning like a loon.
“What did you ask me get?”
“I’ve no idea,” she answers.
I guess at 49 the memory don’t get any better.
