We moan when it is hot and when it is cold

May 16th, 2008 · No Comments

Residing in Seattle we get used to it being damp a lot of the time, they say Seattle people don’t tan, they rust!

We complain when it is constantly raining, then when the hot weather gets here we are moaning again. We are currently sweltering in record temperatures, we have fans running and drinking tons of water.

I feel like getting a jet charter and flying off to Alaska or somewhere similar to cool off, then of course, I’ll complain I am too cold.

The swimming pools have just been filled but doesn’t open until Memorial Day, I feel like scaling the fence and diving in.

BBC News Friday: Europeans get drunk to have sex

May 9th, 2008 · 4 Comments

BBC News Friday: Article on BBC News site I saw was about a study that says Europeans get drunk to increase their chances of sex. Apparently “this study showed many young people were “strategically” binge drinking or abusing drugs to improve their sex lives.”

I guess you get people together who are blitzed and their guards are down and they have risky sex.

I don’t know, I’ve never been totally drunk, just buzzed but even then it definitely doesn’t improve my sex life. A couple of Margaritas and I’m on the bed prancing around thumping my chest and roaring like Tarzan. Then the room starts spinning, I feel weird and collapse off the bed into a heap on the floor. Carolyn hasn’t even come into the room yet!

Speaking of sex, if you have a baby and need some clothes and other stuff for it check out baby gifts.

May 5th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Coming home on the bus I noticed a car that had a crap load of bumper stickers all over the back. I wrote down a few, but there were quite a few of them.

“More trees less Bush.”

“What would Scooby do?”

“People are more violently opposed to fur than leather, because it is easier to harass rich women than biker gangs.”

I thought they were funny.

Okay, whose idea was it to add me to the list to get medicare insurance junk mail, I’m nopt quite there yet people!

Vadrum Meets the Barber of Seville (Drum Video)

May 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Saw this guy Andrea Vadrucci from Italy on You Tube and added him to MySpace, his drumming videos are great. I once had aspirations [sic] to be a drummer when I was younger, when friends and I wanted to start a band in High School. But getting my arms and legs coordinated like this guy seemed beyond me.

I turned my speakers up opened the window and made sure the sub woofer under my desk was on full, the floor and walls were thumping!

Boxes and more boxes

May 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

Carolyn and I have have been speaking about moving, just around the corner to a place all on one level instead of two like we have now. We have already started sorting through stuff to get rid of unnecessary items. We always seem to have boxes of stuff that follows us around and never gets opened!

We have boxes and boxes of photos as well as pictures the grand kids have drawn for us. I told Carolyn we need to look into some custom picture framing so we can get some of the photos and pictures framed and on display. I also have some Houdini posters I’d like to get framed.

Carolyn said when we move she wants a new desk, one similar to mine so we can have a more organized office for our computers and other electronics.

But we are excited ab out a possible move and having everything exactly how we like and all coordinated instead mismatched like we have been for a long while.

Watch out lady

May 1st, 2008 · No Comments

Carolyn and I were at the store stocking up on stuff for our lunches during the week and other essentials. As I was sauntering down the aisles looking at stuff, a women came hurtling down the aisle pushing a shopping cart. She was picking up quite a speed and seemed oblivious to anyone around her.

People were diving out the way left and right as she aimed her cart at them. She screeches to a stop reverses without looking swinging the cart around and tears off in a different direction.

I was thinking I certainly don’t want to be in the parking lot when she drives out if that is how she drives! Bet she has seen a lot of accidents in her rear view mirror.

I caught up with Carolyn and she was in the pet section looking at cat supplies, “We’re getting a cat?”

“No fool I’m getting Max some new toys.”

“But that rabbit is just as happy chewing a toilet roll tube up.”

“He is getting some new chew toys.”

Changes

April 21st, 2008 · 4 Comments

Well, already making progress on stuff on my “to Do” list, designed some business cards for the mentalism stuff I am working on. Determined to perform an act in front of strangers at least once, maybe I’ll get the bug and want to entertain more people.

We’ve also decided to move, been talking about it for a while and we already put down a deposit on a place, only moving around the corner to a place all on one level instead of the two stories we have currently. Slightly smaller so we have some crap to get rid of, but we are excited about moving. I foresee lots of cleaning supplies, disposable gloves and the like as Carolyn likes to have a place spotless before we leave it.

Carolyn has a big birthday coming up on the 29th so thinking of some stuff for that.

No more Mr Procrastinator

April 20th, 2008 · 5 Comments

I am a self-confessed procrastinator, my motto is: Why do now what I can do tomorrow, or preferably the next day.

This is mainly for things I don’t want to do, I hate doing things because I have to, and rather do things because I want too.

But saying that, I still have a long list of personal things I’d like to do, ambitions included, like performing a mentalism act in front of strangers.

After yesterday though that will change, I realized life is too short and you need to do things as you think of them because that tomorrow may not come.

Yesterday after the wedding party had left and everything was once again quiet, I was outside and said hello to a neighbor who was walking his grand son around the corner so the boy could play with another kid.

I went inside and shortly after there were paramedics outside, another neighbor was performing CPR on the neighbor I had spoken to earlier. He has had heart problems but yesterday while watching his grandson and friend play he collapsed. Unfortunately he died despite all the efforts.

It is sombre around here as you would expect and people are bringing flowers and some are in the area where he died. It seems weird to have spoken to someone and a few minutes later you find out you’ll never speak to them or see them again.

Made me realize you have to take advantage of today, because as I said, tomorrow may never come.
