Carolyn and I are always on the look out for vacation destinations, we do tend to just up and go off on a whim and take time out. That usually is locally though and we have a great time in local hotels playing the tourist in our own town.

Been looking again at Branson, The website forBranson Getaways has some great attractions and vacation packages to consider.

The packages look to be priced competitively and seem ideal for couples. They have a slew of attractions including movies, rides, golf, go-karting, music shows like Legends in Concert, and of course shopping. The museums look interesting with the Titanic, Antique Toy museum, Roy Rogers/Dale Evans museum. Seems to be plenty for all tastes.

The lodging choices are varied and you can stay in inns, hotels or condos, the presidential condo sounds extravagant.

Their Silver Dollar City looks to be fun for the whole family, over 30 rides and attractions.

Looks to be something Carolyn and I would like so gonna check it out some more.

Now who do we know that lives near there we could possibly visit?

The wife and I are always on the look-out for vacation destinations, we like to keep a folder of sites and places we like the look of. We don’t always have an interest in the same places though. The wife likes lots of fun places and I am happy with quiet destinations with a few museums and book shops to keep me happy.

One site we looked at for Winter Park real estate, looked interesting. But perusing the site we suddenly both turned and looked at each other and shook our heads “Nah!”

The picture of the guy fishing looked great to the wife but I have no interest in fishing and we both didn’t like the idea of skiing. I could foresee cold arses and broken bones if we tried that.

So we decided we’d keep looking and making notes, but both agreed the destinations should probably have less rain and very little snow to what we are currently used to.

From doing the contest on Carolyn’s blog we have a list of destinations for suggestions of where to go for our tenth wedding anniversary in February. Vegas got several mentions, not sure where we will go but we have some good ideas for future vacations.

Our daughter was here and she suggested that we should get a vacation home Orlando, she pointed out it would be a great vacation destination and that we would be close to Disney World, Universal Studios, Busch Gardens and Sea World. “We would have fun there,” she says.

“Yes I am sure we would, wait, what’s this ‘we’?”

“You know,” she replies.

“No, I don’t.”

“You, Mom, us three kids, our spouses and the eight grand kids of course.”

Dang, I walked into that one. It would be a fun if somewhat hectic vacation but guess who gets stuck paying for it all?

I am not sure how long I would be able to put up with them all together at one time either, usually when they are all together it degenerates into fights and I have to put my foot down and tell them if they don’t behave I’ll start throwing them out. When I stand up and say this they all tower over me and look down but they know I mean business and listen to me.

The wife and I are about ready to get our travelpro luggage out of storage, pack a few things and fly out somewhere on vacation. We’ve both been working hard at our jobs and getting home worn out. We had Alec our grandson overnight and that wore us out too, he was on the go all the time. But he and we had fun and he went home with an armful of grandpa’s toys.

With kids and grand kids it always seems like there is some drama to contend with and sometimes we’d just rather leave them to it and let them deal with their issues.

With our tenth wedding anniversary coming up in Feb 08 we are planning on going away somewhere, but we’d both just like to fly out somewhere right now. We do sometimes book a hotel downtown and escape without anyone knowing where we are so we can relax and have fun.

People say if they ever won the lottery they would continue to work, bugger that! If we won we’d both be off, retired and flying around the world having fun doing whatever takes our fancy.

Maybe we’re both just getting old LOL.

I am doing the happy dance, “I am on vacation, I am on vacation.” Took the week off to decompress and for stress relief. Been a while since I have taken a whole block of work off. Hoping to get some things around the house done and get office sorted out.

Anyhoo, I’m off to do some errands and I’ll take my Moleskine in case anything occurs for the blog.

In the mean time I found a little video clip, it is a commercial and I thought it was cool. Best if you pause it and let it fully stream before playing so it runs smooth.

I have mentioned that I joined Winzy, it is a service where you can win points towards entries into a sweepstakes each month and prizes like iPods and Amazon gift certificates. Free to join and all you do is use their page to do your internet searches to win points. As you go you get prize pages pop up where you can spin and win points and prizes. At month end all your points are put into the sweepstakes, using it a month I just had close to 15,000 points, giving me that many entries.

You can promote it and when your friends join you get points and when they win points and prizes you win them too. Always like the chance to win stuff, you don’t have to buy anything and as you likely search for stuff on the internet anyway.

Click banner below for details. Now I need to get my points balance back up, mm, what can I search for?
