Gifts for the better half
Filed Under wife | Leave a Comment
I’ve been searching the Shirley of Hollywood site as one does er, um well. I suggested to Carolyn that I wanted to buy her something and after some thought she directed me to the above site to check out the lingerie. Dang I love that woman!
I was looking at the school girl costumes, but I don’t think the wife would appreciate those and I have to admit they don’t do as much for me as some of the other items.
Maybe a French maid. He he decisions decisions, this might take a while. Maybe I’ll get something for me too (from the men’s section!)

Packing up the house
Filed Under wife | 2 Comments
As we pack more boxes and move them to the storage lockers while we wait for the new place to get finished, I am surprised how much stuff we have stashed away in closets and on shelves.
I have books in every nook and cranny and Carolyn has tons of jewelry boxes that contain rings, earrings, gold chains and all manner of trinkets. I am surprised she can find any piece of jewelry what with so many boxes to hunt through.
We have a few unopened boxes from several moves ago! Time to throw some stuff out methinks.
Next week we should be moved and in our new place and I am looking forward to getting it set-up and how we want it. The office will be a lot more efficient and spacious than what we have now.

Oops off color text message my bad
Filed Under wife | 3 Comments
Yesterday I was working on the computer here at home, Carolyn had gone with her friend after work to pick up some stuff from the store. I was thinking about my wife and decided to send her a text message. If her phone isn’t in the pouch on her belt she tucks it in her bra and has it on vibrate so I like to buzz her with a message.
We text each other a lot and send little love notes and other stuff all throughout the day.
Anyway I wrote a very strong text message, I’m talking leave nothing to the imagination very naughty message that I was sure would color her face and make her flustered.
I didn’t get any response and wondered if she had the phone in her purse and didn’t feel it vibrate.
Tangent: My phone is a flip phone and I have it set so after flipping it open I can see who is calling before answering. Carolyn has a slider phone and hers is set to answer a call or open a text message when she slides it open.
off-tangent.
She came home with her friend and her friend was smiling, when she left I asked Carolyn if she got the message. She smiled and told me that she had just handed her phone to her friend to use just as my message came in. I could feel my face color when she told me that!
Her friend said “This message is from your husband, I stopped reading it,” as she handed her the phone.
Dang, I felt like booking a royal caribbean cruise and going to bury my heads in the sand on some beach somewhere.
Carolyn’s friend who is in the process of divorcing the dingbat of a husband she has said that she wished her husband would send her messages and treated her like I treat my wife.
Still, I am glad it wasn’t the mother-in-law or one of the kids who saw the message!

Home Theater
Filed Under wife | 5 Comments
Carolyn was perusing a site that sells popcorn machines and other related cinema stuff. She said she would love a little table top popcorn machine and even suggested turning the office into a home theater.
That would be a great idea, we could have some love seats and snuggle up and watch a movie and not have to pay through the nose for concessions!
We know a couple who have a home theater that is tacked on the end of their living room and is long and thin, theater seating and a huge screen at the end.
Would suit me fine, we were planning on a bigger TV soon anyway, they have some great media cabinets too which is something we are looking for too, media cabinets.

A case of rolling eyes
Filed Under wife | 5 Comments
As a man and husband, I of course have the ability to make the wife’s eyes roll on a regular basis. Carolyn always has the spinning eyeballs when I come up with some scheme or idea etc.
As I am practicing and rehearsing my mentalism stuff sher rolls her eyes when I bend the cutlery or read her mind. I decided I needed a spiffy briefcase to hold books and stuff and showed her some I had found online, Zero Halliburton, of course, when she sees them and the prices she rolls her eyes!
So as a compromise she got me a Samsonite briefcase from the thrift store where she works for a huge discount, brand new too, so I guess I have to settle for that until I save my spendies for the cool ones I found.

We’re back
Filed Under love, wife | 3 Comments
Well we made it back after our wedding anniversary getaway, we decided to stay down town rather than go out of State. We spent three days in a hotel down town, we had a great time relaxing and playing the tourist in our own town.
We saw movies, Jumper (great movie) and Rambo (intense, not the best Rambo film), we checked out the remodeled Seattle Art Museum and we went to a musical, we saw Mame. We enjoyed the musical and decided to get season tickets for the next season of shows.
It was really good for us to get time away from work and family issues, we certainly are getting to try out all the down town hotels and restaurants.
It is good to back though in our own space.

Valentine’s Day - love story - our story

Our love story - the short version time compressed.
It won’t last!
A few years ago I had numerous pen pals all over the UK and the world, then I got a computer and first signed up with Compuserve then AOL. I then discovered online pals and liked the instant responses, no waiting around for snail mail.
One of my online friends was a girl here in Seattle, one day I got up the courage to actually call her on the phone. She wasn’t in but her neighbor was there baby sitting, we talked for a short while. After that initial call we then started sending each other email, talking online, phoning and sending snail mail letters. This went on for over two years, we spent a fortune in phone bills, wore out several keyboards and cut a swathe through a forest of trees with all the letters and cards we sent.
One day I decided to propose marriage and to my surprise Carolyn said yes!
We made arrangements and Carolyn flew to England on the 13th of February, we got married on the 17th of the same month and spent ten wonderful days together. Then we parted with the intention of Carolyn eventually moving to the UK. But after again spending a ton of money on phone bills and considering that Carolyn had kids and grand kids, I upped and moved to the States.
I met the family and slowly had the kids loving me and the grand kids adoring me. We proved the naysayers wrong, and are happily married. I feel blessed to have a beautiful loving wife, some great (most of the time) kids and a gaggle (eight with number nine on the way) of grand kids. We are very much in love and some people still think we are in the honeymoon stage.
So to my loving wife Carolyn, I love you my darling you are my world and you mean everything to me, I have never regretted being your husband, thank you for being mine, I love you with all my heart.
Several people said it wouldn’t last and to those people I say;
Sunday is our tenth wedding anniversary.

Grandma is hot
Filed Under grand kids, wife | 6 Comments
Carolyn had her long hair cut quite short for a change, we went around to the daughter’s place.
As soon as Alec, one of our grandkids, came running out to see us he stopped dead in his tracks. He looks up at grandma, curls his bottom lip and puts his hand on his chin and contemplates grandma’s new hair do. He then walks around to her other aside and adopts the same pose.
He walks back again to the first side and checks grandma out, then he checks the back then stand in front looking with that pose. He then puts his hands on his hips and says;
“Grandma you’re hot,” then he runs off back into his room.
I have to agree with the little tyke though, grandma is hot.
